Critical Appraisal Skill Program
About the Institute
Evidence based medicine (EBM) is the way of the future. There are so
many scientific publications in medicine over last 30 years and yet we remain
confused about choice of treatment modalities. Health Care Trusts launched this
institute to promote Evidence based healthcare in India.
This institute was inaugurated by Dr. Martin Dawes, Director. for Center for
EBM,
Oxford, on 23 April 2000. He also gave the first Indian course of EBM.(pictures below).
Dr. Beena Goel and Dr. Sumant Goel are making whole-hearted efforts. They have
already given several lectures on this subject. If you're interested in conducting
an EBM

The Goels have also attended one week CASP workshop at Oxford during July 2000 and
have attended Systematic review workshop at Bangalore conducted by Pain Research
Unit, Oxford from 1-3 Feb, 2001. Dr. Goel has conducted mini CASP
workshops at Assam, Chandigarh and Nepal.
We are thankful to Prof Muir Gray for his support and
encouragement. We have now launched the program to educate medical officers in
Karnataka state (about 5000). The first workshop was held on 23-24 June, 2001.

Dr.
Beena Goel was at the CASP workshop July 2000 at Oxford.
