    Operative (restorative) dentistry -
    Operative technique procedures are carried out using dental manikins with either plastic or natural extracted teeth.

    Clinical experience sessions are scheduled in the following disciplines:
  • Exodontias and minor oral surgery

  • 1.The candidates are required to prepare specified no. Of cavities class 1,2,3,4,5 and to restore them with specified materials. Preparations will include restoration with
    • Amalgam, composite resin, gold
    • Jacket or other crown
    • Bridge abutment.
    • Endodontic cavity.

    2.Candidates are asked to assess patients who have periodontal disease and require preventive, conservative or prosthetic treatment. Diagnosis and treatment planning and other relevant matters pertaining to treatment for these patients and for other cases.
    3.Assess an adult patient prior to anaesthetizing and extracting one ore more teeth and to answer questions on matters relating to this treatment, possible complications and postoperative sequels.
    4.In a broader are of oral surgery cases with lesions such as cysts and tumors and manifestations of cystic disease is presented and relevant questions are asked.
    5.Procedures include supra and sub-gingival scaling
    6.Impression taking
    7.Recording of occlusal relationships.
    8.Intra oral radiography.
    9.Application of pit and fissure sealants
    10.Rubber dam
